GENERAL SUMMARY: The Patient Access Manager collaborates with the Director to lead all processes related to Patient Access; Registration processes for the Main Campus, consisting of inpatient, outpatient, lab, same day surgical, inpatient surgical, pre-registration, training/orientation, QA and denial management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Must possess leadership and management skills and be competent in giving instructions and follow-up performance reviews. Both verbal and written communication skills are necessary. Have good decision-making abilities and analytical skills to accommodate problem solving. Must have knowledge of all functions of Patient Access and scheduling areas. Ability to understand basic medical terminology and use of basic computer software packages. Demonstrated success in managing day-to-day operations in Patient Access preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required. At least one (1) year management experience in Patient Access, financial, or related healthcare environment. Excellent communication and guest relation skills. HFMA Patient Accounts Representative (CPAR) certification preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides leadership and supervision to Patient Access staff members using general guidelines under the guidance of the Director of Patient Access. Follows and enforces all departmental and hospital policies and procedures. Uses reasonable diligence to detect noncompliance with applicable policies and legal requirements within the department.
